Urge Tunisian president to drop charges against human rights activist and writer
(March 14, 2002) Write a letter to the president of Tunisia asking him to drop charges against Sihem Ben Sedrine, a Tunisian human rights activist and editor of the web-zine Kalima, who is currently awaiting trial on charges of “defamation” and “spreading false news with the aim of disturbing public order." If convicted, Ben Sedrine can get a three-year prison term.
